Archangel Raphael is very tall, slender, elegant and quiet Archangel, with both a gentle, translucent countenance and being. Raphael is over six feet tall, at par with Jesus Christ in height. Unfortunately, though, no icon or painting exists, to date, that depicts Raphael accurately, with all available depictions so far being idealized or not-so-idealized portrayals of the artists’ desires to a great degree, rather than true portrayals of the Archangel.
When Raphael acts or speaks he does so quietly but firmly, moving in and out of various situations with impeccable grace, subtlety and effectiveness. Archangel Raphael has a soft, kind voice and whenever he wishes to contribute to your well-being, he asks you gently whether you wish him to do so or not. Unlike Archangel Michael who seems to have no problem issuing commands and “telling” you what to do rather than asking, Archangel Raphael does not command. Instead, he asks you in a very gentle, questioning manner, despite his very earnest desire to help you out in the dilemma you may find yourself in.
